MEMBER PROGRAMS
The current membership of NHEOA is made up of individuals who work in educational opportunity programs across the state. These programs include:
- Educational Talent Search (ETS)
ETS serves qualified individuals ages 11 to 27, providing advising and referral related to academic progress, career planning, postsecondary enrollment, and student financial assistance. Program staff encourage participants to complete high school and enroll in a postsecondary program, or encourage participants who have dropped out of secondary or postsecondary education to re-enroll.
New Hampshire has one statewide Talent Search program:
ETS at the University of New Hampshire
- Breakthrough Manchester
Breakthrough Manchester is a year-round, tuition-free academic program serving motivated students. Students self-select as 5th graders and commit to attending summer and school-year sessions for two years. Breakthrough Manchester supports academic progress through their high school graduation. A dual-mission program, Breakthrough Manchester is also a workshop in education, training high school and college students from around the city, the state, and the nation in the art of teaching.
New Hampshire has one Breakthrough Manchester program:
Breakthrough Manchester at The Derryfield School
- Upward Bound
Upward Bound programs serve high school students and veterans who are low income and
first generation with year round academic tutoring and counseling,
assistance with postsecondary preparation and enrollment, financial aid
guidance, and summer programs consisting of academic and cultural
enrichment.
New Hampshire has two Upward Bound Programs:
UB at the University of New Hampshire
UB at Keene State College
- Student Support Services (SSS)
SSS participants are enrolled college students who are from low-income
families, first generation college students, or students with disabilities. SSS programs seek to increase the retention, graduation,
and transfer rates of participants.
New Hampshire has four SSS programs:
SSS at the University of New Hampshire
(Center for Academic Resources)
SSS at Keene State College (Aspire Program)
SSS at Plymouth State University
(PASS)
SSS at The Community College System of New Hampshire
- Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program (McNair)
McNair Programs prepare low-income/first-generation and minority college
undergraduates for entry into and completion of graduate programs, with
a focus on the doctorate and a career in college teaching.
New Hampshire has one McNair Program, which currently serves both eligible UNH
students and students for other colleges/universities across the nation:
